A year ago HMS has sent somebody to my house to replace my heating and cooling system. My experience with the company which they sent was awful. For that reason I stopped being a HMS customer.
A big problem has presented itself in the end of May 2011: our basement flooded. We found that the water was coming out of our inside heating and cooling unit which was frozen and the ice began to melt. The temperature inside the house was about 90 degree. So, our family had to live in a 90 degree *** for three days.
Finally the problem was fixed. We've taken several photos and I have a written statement on the bill indicating that the problem was a direct result of installation error. Specifically, the copper wire was not brazed properly to the outside unit. A leak was discovered exactly were the two pipes were soldered together, proving that the cause of the leak was original installation error.
On top of flooded basement, family suffering inside of insanely hot house for three days, we ended up with a service charge from the plumbing company for $330.00. I contacted HMS with the request to reimburse us for their faulty service and still have not heard back.
We are going to seek legal remedy now. The charges now will be not only be for the bill, as we asked in the beginning, but also for the flooded basement.
